I love the game you made, when is the full version released?

Hey, thank you! I got a little side-tracked lately, plus I only have so much free time. Can't say when it's done, hope that as soon as I can.

What is CFA engine? Click the banner leads to some tutorial🤔

(+1)

CFA engine is what came out of this tutorial. It's not an official name. I thought it would be fun to name it like this. CFA stands for Contra Force Advance - this is what tutorial covers

Does it have advantages over Butano engine? https://github.com/GValiente/butano

(+1)

Can't really say much since I never used Butano. If you choosing the engine, stick to something that advertises itself as an engine. What I used was just a tutorial with a simple open source demo, I built upon this and called this CFA Engine for fun's sake

Nikita, this looks amazing. Have you considered a kickstarter campaign to help fund the project? You might be surprised by how many people are willing to back this. I know I would.

Keep up the good work.

Hey! Thank you for your comment. Yeah would love to start a crowdfunding company, yet I live in Russia, Swift does not work here so getting money will be a tough quest.

Gameplay yo,

AMAZING I'm hyped

You guys still working on this?

(+2)

Thanks for asking! Yeap, it still in works, stay tuned!

cool, loved the stly of the game

This is really cool! The animations look great. The screen glitched out and became unresponsive at one point, I don't know if that's intentional.

I was playing on a GBA via the EZFO DE.

this game looks incredible! I can't wait for a full release!

Guys, you are still working on this?

Yeap

Great!

Eagerly awaiting this

Game seems to run on my Flash Cart :) I hope it's compatible with Flash Saves.

Edit: This game is pretty good so far, but it is quite short. In development for at least 2 years, and I can see there is some quality, but I expected a bit more content.

Less than 2 minutes of actual gameplay so far, however it is running, even on original hardware (a stock AGS-001). Small visual glitch when accessing wardrobe, but being able to ring the bell on your bike is a lovely touch.

I have high hopes for the future releases :)

they released trailer with a ton of new features this summer

I know. I'm also aware that it's now December. And development started years ago. This is gonna be a Triple A title on the GBA lol.

Great project! I've been supporting it since its inception. In my opinion, this is the best homebrew GBA game so far.

если понадобится помощь с тестированием , буду рад помочь)

Игра крутая! Было бы круто добавить русский язык)))

Nice game, even it was only demo. Nice graphics and Storyline. Can't wait to get it full game.

This game's amazing so far! The music, the animations and everything else were just amazing!

What tools did you use to make this?

(+2)

Hey! Thank you.
I use devkitPro for compiling, Adobe Photoshop for graphics, Tiled for map creating, FL Studio and Audacity for music and sounds and Notepad++ for coding

nice, do you have any tips for using devKitPro? Im on Mac and im having some problems setting it up

(+1)

I don't really know how to install it on MacOS, but what exactly going wrong?

never mind, I was able to get it to install :)

I do have another question though, how did you get sprites to render on the screen?

Hi,

I played the demo a bit... I like it so far and it's looking awesome, I hope you keeping up this good work. The last weeks I'm looking for wich retro video game system you can making games and how with tools, like SGDK or the scorpion engine. For the GBA I found nothing, is there something? Maybe I overlook it?

Greetings form Germany

J.

Hey! Game is still in works, glad you liked the demo.
I can't suggest any speciefic development kit for GBA development. You might want to install devkitPro - a toolchain which gives you the oportunity to compile for GBA. From that you just go ahead and make your games with notepad++ and tools for graphics and sfx of your choise.
I used this tutorial (which is on Russian), and which have an open source demo what you can use as foundation for your project. And you may also be interested in Tonk tutorial which was used by the author of first one I believe.

Thanks! I will take a look.

Is this game dead?

(+4)

No, working on it right now.

I'm glad to see this. Been back in the retro craze this year and really enjoyed your demo so far! Keep it up!

Im really a gameboy advance fanatic. it was an impressive machine for its time.I love your game ,the graphics, the gameplay, the story all was good .please continue the project.

ps: the game gets stuck after finding IQ's sketches.

there is a monster catch me and the screen is so bad how i fix it? i mean its game but how i close it?

Sadly no options yet. This is the end of demo version.

офигенно, наконец-то смог почувствовать себя винишкотян (хоть и в такой прекрасной игре а не в real life)

Can i put that to my own gba emulator?

Yeap.

it's really cool and standout to see a gba homebrew in a sea of gameboy homebrews. the game had nice pixel art and i really liked the chill, eerie music (i was able to refrain from shitting my pants however).

i wasn't able to finish gathering IQ's sketches; picking up the last one softlocks the game. i'm not sure if that was intentional or i missed something. but what little of the game i was able to experience, i enjoyed. i wish future developments on the game well!

Thank you for playing this game. I am glad that there is still people who somehow find this game and checking it out. Yes, this demo is this short, but I am still working on it and have so much more plans to do. Would love if you play the next demo when it's gonna be ready so stay tuned!

that's great to hear! the demo had a lot of potential, so i'm glad that development will continue. i look forward to the next demo!

hi. wasn't sure how to contact you since there's no twitter on your itchio profile, but i wanted to let you know that "Graveblood" was featured on the Indie Hunters Best of 2020 stream. it received mentions for "Game With a Lotta Hart" (2:55:56)

(+1)

Wow, thank you for the mention. So glad to see someone noticed all the stuff I made with this character. I really hope I can release this game one day. Gonna check other games later too!
You are hilarious guys and I hope your audience will get wider. Keep it up!

Glad you like it! CFA Engine is a GBA programming tutorial course and open source project which is used for this game. You can learn more here (Russian language).
